External Metal Ferrules are used to connect hardwood dowels, solid and tubular fiberglass rods to make a longer spar or to make a kite more compactable. They are constructed of either aluminum (EAF) or steel (ESF). Metal ferrules can be dimpled and in most cases bent to create preformed dihedrals for Eddy style kites.
